Our Scotch-Brite™ cut and polish sheet features a tough, tight and dense web that allows aggressive blending, cleaning and deburring of metals. The web is conformable, flexible and will adapt to unique contours and get into hard to reach locations. May be used manually or on an in-line sander for metal working paint prep or coating and corrosion removal. When used by hand this sheet can easily clean and polish inside diameters and can take on tougher jobs when attached to an inline-sander. This tan colored cut and polish sheet uses aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut rate, hardness, strength and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use.
